Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:15 to 1:10 and there were two seals during her observation.
When she first started viewing an Unknown Unknown was just entering the water near the 3BS. Her guess is it was subadult to adult size with at least one red tag.
At 11:36 a seal hauled out on the rock flats of LPB. This could be the U/U, but only the seal knows for sure. The seal that hauled out was a Subadult Female: subadult to adult size, old coat with lots of green(for St. Paddy's Day) female belly and two red tags. She moved around some and then settled into a tide pool. Fortunately she did a flipper flex view that showed the two tags and female belly.
Team R&B first stop at the bay they spotted a seal in the water going back and forth. It was difficult to get a decent shot but they got enough to get an ID. The seal that was furiously foraging is R3CX Nalu. He did not haul out while they were there just was in eating. There was a big school of fish for him to dine on.
Over at the outfall an adult seal with a big cc on its back was foraging. They also saw a scar near the left side and no tags, they ID'd R407 Kawika. He never hauled out during their observation. They did see dolphins out on the water as always having fun.
At another west side location they saw a really plump male on the rocks. They were thrilled to find RL20 Kalua. The boy is eating well.
At the other end well hidden was RH76 Kala.
On their way home they made another stop to check on RL20 Kalua. They were thrilled to find another seal hauled out. RP30 Puka had joined RL20 on high rocks. Two cuties.
