March 24, 2023 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 2:45 to 4:00 pm and there were four seals on island today.
Two of those four were Mom and PO3. Between middle cliff and 3BS was the Adult Female (mom) and PO3. The umbilical cord is still attached, but the pup is active and seems to be nursing normally. Marilyn believes the A/F to be RF34 Pua, but until it can be confirmed mom is labeled as an Adult Female.
A short distance Makapuu side of 3BS was a Juvenile Male: juvenile size, light male belly and two red tags.

At 3:13, Marilyn became aware of  seal hauling out and galumphing to the JM. The new arrival was RK37 Hui'a who was ID'd by her subadult to adult size, mostly sandy female belly, two red tags and her NB on her lower left side.

Team R&B saw four seal about 8 am. They were at electric beach all hurrying out going in a westerly direction. They could only determine one was an adult with a clean coat. One had a cc scar on the right side of its body, and another was green in color.
They headed to paradise cove and found RH32 Kaale on the reef alone.
On shore was RG28 Lefty alone in a zone. A volunteer was on site.
All the folks were focusing on the turtles.

Next they arrived at secrets and found RN14 Kalano on the reef on the left end. There were lots of folks on the shoreline, in the water and on the rocks. They put out three signs to help deter folks. They called the hotline to report RN14.  Just as Team R&B were heading out a volunteer arrived.

At another west side location they found RH76 Kala. She was in her spot on waterfront rocks. To the right of her were the boys RL08 and R407 Kawika. The two of them were snoozing and all was calm.
Team R&B did see the NOAA OLE boat pass by the area.

Their last find of the day has them scratching their heads. They think it might be BG but reported her as an Unknown Female.  She was in a small pond sleeping, large female with clean coat and no tags.
They noted squiggly lines on her belly, cc scar under belly and a small scar on top of her head. Also a small bleach mark on her right side mid body.  Hope someone can confirm her ID.
