Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:07 to 2:15 and there were three seals there on this beautiful sunny day.
Between 3BS and SRI was RK37 Hui'a: adult size, yellowish tan female belly and at least one red tag. The NB on the lower left rear side was her ID marker.
Among the rock flats near SRI was an Adult Male: adult to subadult size, light male belly and at least one red tag. He disappeared about 12:30 and was not seen again.
At 1:27 Marilyn became aware of a seal under a ledge on Makapuu side of RRB. Marilyn noticed the seal when she had looked back at some photos she took of the noddy terns. She could tell that the seal had been there the entire time just difficult to see due to glare and shade. She reported it as a Subadult Male: subadult to adult size, light male belly and unsure about tag. This S/M has a NB on the tip of the RFF. He headed into the water about 2 pm and was not seen again.
A super surprise was for the first time ever Marilyn saw a small pod of dolphins swimming in front of Rabbit Island, about 100 yards or so from the island. They were heading in the Makapuu direction when she first spotted them and then later in the Lanikai direction.
Team R&B started their morning with a beautiful sunrise and a pod of dolphins. Better than coffee :-)
Much later in the day after all their appointment they went back out and found a seal at yoks. There were signs up, but that didn't stop people walking too close to the seal. They were able to ID RW02 PvKauai.
Next stop they spotted divers who were very excited, and then Team R&B spotted a seal. It looked like he just hauled up on the rocks. It was a very alert R3CX Nalu.
They ended their day watching the whales!
