March 15, 2023 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:50 to 2:30 and there were two seals during her observation.
Between the 1BS and 2BS was an Unknown Adult: adult size is all she could determine. The seal appears to be robust. Marilyn had hoped in the 2.5 hours of viewing the seal would roll over.
Hiding under a ledge clear at the Makapuu side of RRB was an Unknown Subadult: subadult size, lighter belly, unsure about tags and could not see a nb pm RFF. Marilyn is reasonably sure this is the same seal she labeled as Subadult Male on 3/13.  The seal was mostly a shadow until the sun finally hit, the seal moved down into the water. Marilyn just couldn't confirm it was a male.

Team R&B started at a west side location and found two seals. They were thrilled to find RH76 Kala looking quite plump and beautiful. She was resting at the seal inlet.
Up at the high rock to the left was RL08.

Next stop at kahe where they saw a seal. It was on the rocks alone, and today they were able to ID RL20 Kalua. He was very cooperative today unlike yesterday.

Then they spotted a seal hauling up on shore at tracks. There was a couple taking a photo from a good distance. When they arrived at the site they found RG28 Lefty. There were four women close to him, and it seemed he was going to leave. Thankfully the ladies moved and he stayed. Team R&B called the hotline.

Their final seal of the day was RW02 PvKaual. There was a guy who walked up to him for a closer photo with his cell. The dude left to catch up with his buddies, then all four of them came charging back.  Team R&B let them know to keep their distance and give the seal some room to rest.
