Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island 1:30 to 3:30 and there were three seals on island during her observation.
On Lanikai side of LPB was the same molting Adult Male that has been there the past week. A/M: adult size, about 60% molted, male belly and not sure about tags.
Near SRI was an Unknown Subadult: subadult size, two red tags and a yellowish belly. (possibly a male but unsure).
Team R&B started their day at Kahe and spotted a seal on the rocks. The seal was snoozing and not moving around, but they finally got the tag shot of RL08. They spent two hours just to get a look at the tag. They wanted to go closer but they heard the dogs, and sure enough they all showed up with their owner.
The dogs came charging their way so Team R&B stayed on the bench, but thankfully a car alarm went off and the dogs with their strange owner left the area.
Thankfully RL08 remained on the rocks and was just fine.
Heading over to the outfall they waited to see if a seal would show up. They spotted about five snorkelers near the area. Then they noticed there was a seal foraging near them. They watched and studied the seal from afar. They could see it was an adult, with two red tags, nice white muzzle and a NB on the left side of face. That's when they knew it was Nalu R3CX. He never landed just kept foraging doing six minute dives.
Lastly Team R&B headed off to the bay and saw a seal laying on the rocks. It was Kala RH76 looking plump, good to see her gaining weight.
They met a really nice couple, so they were happy to talk about Kala and give them the scoop on Monk Seal 101.
