Team Billand and junior sealette Olivia were at west side location where they found R3CX Nalu to the right of seal inlet. He was alone and by the end of the day he was the only seal out there today.
While waiting Little Olivia and Grandma made a small memorial for Nanea.
At 1:30 Team Billand headed over to another location and found RN14 Kalani in a shallow water hole on the rocks. He too was alone.
At 2:00 Team Billand headed over to plains, upon arrival there were kids with water guns to the left of the seal. Kids with boogie boards to the right, and kids walking in the left side, and hundreds of people on shore.Some of the kids that came by asked Team Billand if they"owned the sea lion" LOL that's a first. Team Billand talked to the kids but immediately called the hotline to let them know a volunteer needed to be on site.
Good thing it was Buster Boy who was alert to all the activity but didn't react in a bad way. Team Billand did the best they could in the short time they could stay.Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from about 2 to 4 pm. There were seven seals on island, hmmm lucky seven and yesterday I came up with zero.
First and foremost was RF34 Pua and PO1 were on the waterfront rocks left at seal rock inlet. They were mostly in snooze mode along with the PO1 nursing.
RK37 was hidden mostly behind waterfront rocks about 60 ft right of the 3BS. The critter finally moved onto the sand, and Marilyn observed the small natural bleach near her left rear side.
At LPB there was a group of three seals. There was a lot of interaction and the seals kept changing positions (like they were playing the shell game).
