I made a quick trip to Waimanalo while out running errands. I did not see any critters on Rabbit Island. I stayed for about 30 minutes, and not one. I assume Pua and pup were enjoying the calm waters.
Team Billand was at the outfall and didn't see any seals, but there the humpbacks were putting on a good show.
They headed over to a nearby beach and found Kawena RH36.
At 10 am they headed over to a west side location and found RW02 PvKauai on lower snoozing on his back, and all his tags showing. Team Billand moved away after some people came by looking for shells. They kept an eye on RW002 and saw him roll into the playboy pond. Barb gives him a 9.5 for his diving technique.
Next Team Billand headed over to Plains and found Buster in the middle of a zone set up for him. He moved a bit today, rolled on his side. They spent time educating a few folks who had some questions.
There was a family who dug some huge holes by the zone. One of the kids ran into the zone, but the lifeguard was on it and got the Dad's attention to get the kid.
Team Billand notified the hotline, looks like spring break has begun.
Just before 3 pm Team Billand went back to check on Kawena. She was still there in the waterhole but now had company. RN14 Kalani was with her snoozing in the water hole.
They remained together in the water hole.
Back to west side site they found RL20 Kalua on high rocks to the left. The little dude was alone snoozing in peace. Just before they were ready to leave some waves got to him and he moved higher up.
RW02 PvKauai remained in the shallows snoozing. The waves were just reaching his body, he wasn't bothered by them and continued to snooze.
