12-25-2013 DB's Dailies (Posted Late)

At 0650 I found RA20 at last night’s location at Eternity Beach. I assumed an overnighter until witnesses said that she had hauled out at 0500. I cordoned her off and she has remained all day. Thank you to Marilyn, Melanie & Tony ! She was still there when we departed in the dark.

　

Diane & Gabby with visitors, stopped by Blowhole at 0818, and while Diga and I were talking at Eternity Beach, Gabby was gesturing about another animal on the other side of the Blowhole Lookout. We went up and sure enough there was Kea (RN46) down in the small cove on the Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout. This is his first documented visit to that location. On Marilyn’s 1739 recheck he was gone.

　

At 0915 I found RM38 on the beach front incline 60 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island.

　

At 0643 Team Billand called with the report of Kermit (R012), Makaiwi (R4DF) & Benny (RE74) together fronting #1708 White Plains.

　

At 0754 the Billands called again, this time to advise that they had received a call from the Hauula FD, about an animal there. Dana was also notified and at 1023 she advised that James Anderson had provided confirming R5AY photos. Thank you ..........very much!

　

Dana called at 1023 with the report of an animal at Diamond Head. Colleen checked in at 1200 with news that it was Buster (RV08). I notified Billands immediately since he has been one of their problem children for about a month now. The were of course happy to get that news. I guess now its my turn in the Buster barrel. The boy is headed home.

　

At 1044 Dana checked in again with the report of an animal at Maili Beach Park. No further word at this time.

　

Dana called once again advising of a report of 5 critters at Ka’ena Point. No further word.

The Cober Clan was at the birth beach in Mokuleia today and called at 1255 to advise that R912 had hauled out briefly at that location, but then reentered the water, swimming the coastline until hauling out midway between the birth beach and Camp Erdman. Vera’s new lens Christmas present is sure to allow excellent photos.

　

Colleen checked in again at 1535 with the report of T21M near her house at Diamond Head.

　

Dana reported RI37 at Sunset Beach at 1714.

　

Ken Tingman send shots for the Yesterday’s News department from his Ka’ena Pt trek. He found RIP (RR70), Ka’ena (RO40,) RW02, Kerby (RW08) and a player to be named later.
