On my drive out, I stopped on several known spots looking for RK36 Kauai "Kolohe". Although Kimo L. has been checking the beaches, he hasn't been seen in the area since Saturday afternoon. We don't known what's the status of his molt.
On our way into the point, we saw fresh trails on Hidden Beach @ RN58 "Luana's" latest favorite spot but no one was there. On our hike out there she was sleeping quietly face against a rock. We did some outreach with beach goers, they said she was there when they arrived a little earlier. They were happy to have some info about her and thank us for what we do.
Out at the point, RL42 and RR70 "Rip" were sharing the waterline on Back Beach - no interaction was observed while we were there.
Combing the shoreline heading out, we found R912 "Nihoa" sleeping in shallow waters of her favorite pool. It's always a pleasure to see her there. Aloha, Lesley
