Despite being on the road dark and early it would be 0800 before an animal popped up. Gayle called at 0800 to report Kea (RN46) once again at Spitting Cave, doing and average of 8 minute dives. I returned to SC at 1345 on a recheck and found Kea still there and busily pummeling a Puffer Fish into bite sized bits.
At 1046 I found what must be carried as an U/M, with an old coat, and 2 red tags at the far left end of Rabbit Island. Though it might very well be any one of the thousand, my guess is either T21M or Buster. Maybe tomorrow ????
Also at 1046 I found a partially visible juvenile female at Rocky Right Beach on RI. I thought I saw Aukai’s bleach, but I can’t confirm. Once again, maybe tomorrow ???
At 1416 I became aware of a possible hooked animal said to be somewhere between Spitting Cave and Hanauma Bay. Despite multiple checks from Spitting Cave through Lanai Lookout and Blowhole as well as a trek to Toilet Bowl at Hanuma Bay, I was not able to find this animal. Maybe tomorrow ????
At 0653 Team Billand checked in with the report of Kermit (R012) at #1708, and Makaiwi (R4DF) midway between #1707 & 1708. The Billands would report Makaiwi’s departure at 1700.
Also at 0653 the Billands advised that Linda had called them with the report of an animal at Secrets, KoOlina. Dana called at 1717 to advise that the animal had been Benny (RE74) and that he had just departed.
At 1255 the Billands reported M&M (R020) once again at Germaine’s Luau Grounds, Campbell Industrial Park.
At 1315 they advised that they had found Pohaku (RO28) down the beach a ways at Palm Grove, CIP.
At 1331 Ocean Safety called with the report of an U/U at Magic Island. Awaiting further word.
Dana forwarded shots from Mona Lograk taken on Christmas Day at Sunset with our girl RI37. Thank you...........very much !
