12-18-2013 DB's Dailies: Kolohe,RM38,Kainoa,Aukai&U/U@RI, Kaiwi@SC, Kea&RA20@Eternity Bch, M&M,Makaiwi,Kermit&Buster@WP, Benny@Maili Pt, Ewa Girl@WSK, R5AY@Malaekahana

At 0728 I found RM38 in the Morning Glory , left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. When I got back at 0914 he was no longer there, but I did spy animals swimming and playing off shore. It would take a while to realize that there were 4 swimmers. At 0942 they would begin to haul out. They proved to be Aukai (RL12), RM38 & an U/U hauling out to 3BS, then Kainoa (RN04) hauling out to Right Middle Cliff, and Kolohe (RW22) hauling out to the left end rock flats.

　

At 0807 I found Kaiwi (RK96) doing 5 minute dives at Spitting Cave.

　

Melanie was out on the Kea Kuest, and called at 1128 with the report of Kea (RN46) and an U/U at Eternity Beach. When I arrived at 1155 I could confirm the Kea ID, but the other animal was initially a mystery. It took a while but I managed to get an RA20 tag. Consultation with Tracy confirmed that this was in fact the 4 year old daughter of R5AY, born at N. Larsen’s Beach. Thanks to Melanie & Gayle for the help. Both departed at 1810.

　

Team Billand checked in at 0634 with the report of M&M (R020) & Buster (RV08) near the showers , and Makaiwi (R4DF) fronting 1708, White Plains. At 0800 Kermit (R012) would haul out to Tower#2, WP. At 1448 the Billands would find Benny (RE74) at Maili Point, and at 1607 found Ewa Girl (RS00) at Wind Sock.

　

Vera Cober did WP duty today and sent photos of the WP cast.

　

At 1039 Dana called to advise that Michelle Jordan had found and photographed R5AY at Malaekahana. Thank you Michelle !
