On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0719 I found what would prove to be RM38 in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS. It would take a few hours, and a move down to cool off but ultimately the ID was confirmed.
Posse member Susan called at 0919 with the report of an animal at Spitting Cave. I had found nobody on my earlier check. Unfortunately, I had very little time with the critter. I only had 2 ups before it was run off by a dive tour. I can make a list of who it wasn’t but I have no clue who it was. My gut feeling is a possible Duke , but ????????
At 1411 on my 3rd AD check I found Kea (RN46) 600 yds east of the AD Wall. He was out on the water front rocks and virtually invisible to mere mortals. With nobody around I elected to do nothing to draw attention to him.
Team Billand checked in at 0615 with reports of Makaiwi (R4DF) fronting #1708, and Benny (RE74) between #1708 & Tower #2.
At 0933 the Billands reported Buster’s (RV08) arrival to join Makaiwi at #1708. He would depart at 1000, only to return at 1253 .
At 1035 the Billands advised that they had heard from Eileen reporting Ewa Girl (RS00) & her son, Kekoa (RK72) at the Reef Runway.
At 1248 Team Billand reported the arrival of M&M (R020) to #1708, WP.
At 1253 Buster (RV08) hauled out to join her.
At 1325 they reported the arrival of Kermit (R012) to #1708. In case you’ve lost track thats 5 animals fronting #1708 !
At 1158 Cianna called with the report of an U/U at Chun’s Reef on the North Shore. Awaiting further word.
At 1351 Diane Gabriel called with the report of Right Spot (R016) at Right Spot’s Spot at Turtle Bay.
Afternoon email from Kimo Smith brought news of his KP trek to the end of the world. He reported RL42, RK36, RW02, Ka’ena (RO40 & RIP(RR70). Kimo also advised that somebody had put up "caution tape" that had washed down to the water. He picked it up. That could be a disaster , left unattended at that location. Tanx Eh Kimo.... Ya’ Done Good !! nice to hear from you Kimo, been a while ...
Dana called at 1822 with the report of a swimmer around the Aquarium area. The animal hauled out behind the Aquarium. No confirmation on ID, but Jason is on it, and Colleen called at 1842 to say that there had been an animal at Diamond Head today, that was gone when she got there. All this smells like Rocky to me but ????????????
