The Kea Quest began at 0545, but it would be 0741 before I finally spied the chubby dude, foraging amongst the off shore rocks east of Crappy Cove. Two fishermen brought him to my attention. I would lose him at 0800. Gayle would check in at 1041 with "Bingo.... I found him". She found him at essentially the same location that I’d seen him earlier. He would haul out to a completely invisible spot at 1126. On my 1330 recheck I found that Kea was no longer there. I checked the cove and surrounding rocks, but still found nobody. I decided I better check AD, and sure enough when I arrived at 1430 I found Kea sprawled across his sleep rock, snoozin’ away the afternoon. I did an SPZ . Kea entered the water at 1815.
At 0903 I found Buster (RV08) doing 10 minute dives at Blowhole.
At 0955 I found Duke (RA12) fronting 1BS on Rabbit Island.
Team Billand reported Makaiwi (R4DF) at KoOlina, at 0951.
Dera called at 1027 with reports of T21M at Kahana Bay, and R5AY at Malaekahana.
Team Billand called with the report of an animal at Paradise Cove at 1257. At 1334 they confirmed the Haupu (RB24) ID.
