9-7-2013 DB's Dailies:Kea@AD, Irma&RK36@PC, Pohaku@Makaha,Ka'ena&RW02@KP, R912&Pup@Mokuleia, Haupu@Maili, Rocky@Kaimana

At 0545 I found Kea (RN46) in his channel/tide pool on the rock flats, 100yds east of the AD wall. At 0623 he would galumph into the water and begin as forage/swim session that would take him to the 200 yd flats by 0718. He would start back west at 0745, foraging all the way, and arrive back at the 100 yd flats at 0751. He hauled out to a tide pool right behind his snooze rock at 0816, and by 0835 he was flopped on his back in the shallow pool, snoozin’ away the morning. He was still there when Gayle relieved me at 1000. According to the log he basically snoozed away the day until entering the water to the east at 1815 and began his swim / forage session, arriving at his 200 yd nook at 1840. He was still in the water at end of day. 

The highlight of my day began with a call from the Billands at 0640 reporting that KoOlina Diane had 2 UU at Paradise Cove . The Billands responded and at 0659 confirmed the ID as RK36 & Irma (R010) !!! She’d last been seen on the West/ SW side mid June, when she began would turn out to be her trip, via the south shore, to the SE quadrant for Kea’s birth on 7-4-13. I had last seen these two at Kaupo Beach Park, Waimanalo, on 9-3-13. Dera called at 1651 to advise that Linda had reported both seals had departed.

At 1018 Team Billands advised that Debbie had reported Pohaku (RO28) at Aki’s Beach, Makaha.

Marilyn checked in at 1007 to report that she and Lesley had found Ka’ena (RO40) at Ka’ena’s Pool, Ka’ena Point.

She called again at 1015 to advise that RW02 was just entering the Main Pool, at KP. 

At 1304 Team Billands found Haupu (RB24) at Maipalaoa, Maili. 

Ocean Safety called at 1725 to report an animal just hauling out to Kaimana Beach. I advised Dera. Dera confirmed Rocky (RH58) at 1740.
