What a day it wsa yesterday! Found R028,snoozing nicely, a real treat to find her, she remains in my prayers for a safe life. Then finding Kermit at the reef, cool. I was going to take a tag shot, jumped on the reef and foot slipped, landing on my elbow, smooth BRABRA. Broke da Camera,WHAT????? NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! That camera brings me JOY, thrills, of all the seals we encounter. I BROKE IT!!! I just sat on the rock, trying desperately to fix it. But being the dumbass of a person, dont know nothing about cameras or how to use one properly. Rob was getting signs, he had no idea!!! Barbara BROKE THE CAMERA. Here he comes, Robert..placing the signs for Kermit. I say,"BABE, I BROKE DA CAMERA!" He takes it from me, tries his wizardry, but...THE CAMERA IS A GONER!!! WHen I fell, it landed in a tiny puddle of WATER...DEADLY TO A CAMERA. CRAP!! %#@$!!!!!! I am so pissed. But..my dear old babe, took me to costco, got a new one. JUST LIKE THAT..incredible. Rob was so nice, I was a fricken wreck!! He said, its replaceable, I'm NOT!!! OH WOW!!! Thanks BABE!!! Robert is my hero!!! Always has been. Oh and my elbow swelled up like a ping pong ball. Thats not all, I got a Lifeguard call..saying seal at White Plains...a big comotion going on. Well, Barbara thought it was an OLD message from YESTERDAY, sounded the same. But, you know what???? It was a call from today and Benny did haul up in front of every one. And we went later afternoon, to check a third time, and there was good ole benny with cones and a few signs out. People still passing in front of him and in the barrier. We put our ropes up, signs and made the zone larger. But..it was a NON LISTENING crowd who kept walking up to Benny the whole time. It was stressful. Kids running in front of him and swimming in front of Benny. Tsk. Tsk. We spoke to the lifeguard, JOHN, to appologize, and told him my mistake. He laughed and said, thats ok. And the people were WAY too close to Benny. He said, they wanted Benny to BITE those dummies already, so they can see, A MONK SEAL IS NOT A TAME DOG...HE WILL BITE IF APPROACHED. Oh my, what a day!!!!!! And we went back to Kermit to get that shot I wanted. Thanks Robert..and sorry Benny for not coming sooner. Ah life, full of adventures, keeps us on our toes. And I know why I fell, I had on the wrong shoes, not water proofed..it makes a big difference. I've learned a very hard lesson...wear proper shoes at the beach!!!!!!
oh Barbara....
trust me, you have to be careful... what would the seals do if you were hurt? what would we do if you were hurt? Remember safety first, for them and us.
Now as far as Rob being a dear old babe, we should all be so fortunate to have someone so attentive to us. You both share something special.
I am glad you are okay and you can continue to provide us with your amazing experiences through photos.
da blog lady.
Thanks Donna, you are too kind, and you are appreciated too. What would we do WITHOUT DA BLOG TO POUR OUR HEARTS OUT??? We need you too. We all need each other! Oh, if I dont seal ya any time soon...HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! GOBBLE! Gobble!!!!!!!
