Buster,Kolohe,Sadie,Duke,Nani&M38@RI, Kaiwi@SC, Benny@Makaha, Kermit@WP, Irma@Pokai Bay, RO28@PC, RI37@Laie

I found Zeenie mail this morning advising that Kaiwi had been at Crappy Cove as of 0200. Our day began at 0500 with a check of Crappy Cove. Thankfully, Kaiwi (RK96) was gone. Thankful because an hour later the place (and every other inch of coastline in the SE quadrant, was covered in New Year's Day, sunrise worshippers. It was a zoo out there.

At 0715 I found Buster (RV08), in the vegetation behind Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island . He would later move down, allowing me to see his D#8 15% molt.

Also at 0715 I found Sadie (RB12) and Duke (RA12) together up in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS, on RI. They would later move down to the far left end of the beach, where they remained the rest of the day.
At 0926 I found Kolohe (RW22) amongst the water front rocks, on the right side of Seal Rock Inlet at the right end of the beach. He too would remain all day.

On a pan at 1012 I became aware of Nani (RK60), who had moved out from behind a dune, 40 ft left of 1BS. She would later galumph down to join Sadie & Duke at the left end.

At 1309, on a pan I found that RM38 had arrived, and hauled out to join Kolohe at the right end of the beach. He too remained all day.
Apparently there was a New Year's Day seal party on Rabbit Island.... It's been a long time since there were this many hanging out there at once.

At 1408 Marilyn called with the report of a newly arrived Kaiwi (RK96) at Spitting Cave. She appeared to be just passing through, having been seen initially on the cave side and then moving to the other side and further into Maunalua Bay. Even though Kaiwi came and went, it was an outstanding SC day with lots of whales, and two pods of dolphins (1 bottle nosed and 1 Spinner), and of course many turtles, and lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of people !

Team Billand checked in at 0702 with the report of Benny (RE74) at Makaha. He departed at an unknown time.

At 0853 they found Kermit (R012) fronting #1708 at White Plains.

At 0906 they reported Irma (R010) at Rest Camp, Pokai Bay. She had an unwelcome visit from today's dummy. Irma departed at 1748

At 1033 they found Pohaku (R028) at Paradise Cove.

Dana checked in at 1408 to advise of RI37 in Laie
