1-16-2012 Lesley Participates in Beach Cleanup

Just want to say thank you to Lesley for once again coming through and making her way up to the North shore and participating in another beach cleanup in Kahuku.

Early this morning I headed out to Kahuku to participate of the: "Kōkua Hawai'i Foundation & Sustainable Coastlines Hawai'i Beach Cleanup at Kahuku Beach-James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge."
The meeting point was at Kahuku High School and from there we all drove out to the location.
We spent a couple of hours on the beach picking up sea debris. Every time I looked up I was amazed at the amount of people, all ages we looked like ants on the job. As we finished everybody headed back to the school for a big potluck lunch.
The project was VERY well organized and I was pleased to be part of it.
Congratulations to all groups involved: Kōkua Hawai'i Foundation, Sustainable Coastlines Hawai'i, Sea Life Park, Plastic Free Hawaii
On my way back via the scenic route I stopped by to visit Kermit (R4DG) @ Irma's
Kōkua is a very special word: share it !

 Lesley hard at work
It's starting already the trash from Japan has arrived
AND one of the best reasons to clean the beach!!

My Japan friends knows who this sign belongs too:) This debris is the name of the shop of a market selling the fish which a fisherman caught. Is there still the signboard? She would like to return it to the owner? Please let us know. Thanks, kelly girl
