Once again I'm on the loaner computer, so please go to
da' blog in the morning to check all of the photos. I'll attempt do add a few
here, but Team Billand and Colleen shots will be on da' blog. I got photos of RO28 from Team Billand, but nothing yet from Colleen's Diamond Head shots.
At 0727 I found Sadie (RB12) hiding behind the dunes,
40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. She would finally move down at 1248,
allowing the ID.
Gayle called at 0843 to report Kaiwi (RK96) at the
ladder on the cave side of Spitting Cave. She would remain there until the posse
lost sight of her at 1300. A pattern of sorts has been established on the last
few SC events. She seems to require 2 1/2 hrs to get back to Crappy Cove, and
that was the case again today. A witness saw her haul out to the naupaka at
1530. She was still there at dark.
At 0845 Colleen reported Kermit (R012) at the
"Graffitti Bunker" at Diamond Head.
Makapuu lifeguards called at 1409 reporting an animal
just hauling out to the far right end of the beach. When I arrived at 1412 I
found and cordoned off Irma (R010). She was still there when I picked up the
rope at 1900.
On an afternoon RI check I found a partially visible
U/M, with a juvenile belly, and 2 red tags, right of Seal Rock Inlet. I'd been
intent on finding Kolohe all day, and this may well have been him,but it could
just as easily have been Duke. Bottom line... U/M.
Colleen called at 1503 to report that a friend had
called her about an animal behind the Grace Chapel, across from the Aina Haina
Shopping Center. When I arrived at 1544 I found T21M snoozin' on an isolated bit
of gravel.
Dana called at 1529 about animals in Mokuleia and Laie.
No further word at this writing.
Colleen checked in again at 1757 to advise that she had
found a 2nd seal at Diamond Head, this time at Beach Rd. It was Rocky (RH58)
Irma @ Makapuu Beach
Kaiwi in her nest @ Crappy cove
T21M hanging in Aina Haina
RO28 Pohaku @ Tracks
