Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:55 to 2:40 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
Initially on the waterfront rocks on the Lanikai side of LPB was weaner RT19 weaner size and coloration, light make belly and two red tags. Later he moved onto the beach and went into snooze mode.
Again on the beach down from 1BS was an Adult Female: smaller adult size, light greenish gray female belly, two red tags and a line scar on her lower lip.
RS12 Hoku who was ID'd by her large juvenile size, older coat with N3 applied bleach, greenish gray female belly and two red tags.
Chubby weaner RT90 Manapua with his large weaner size, very light male belly and two red tags.
Unknown Adult: adult size, old coat, brownish green ventral, unsure about tags or sex.
RS12 and RT90 played in the shallows for a while and then RT90 and the UA disappeared. Later Marilyn saw what she believed to be RT90 diving in front of the 1BS. Later RS12 hauled out onto the beach near where she had started.
When they got to Kahe they found Kai RM31. It appeared he had just hauled out since he was very wet and alert to his surroundings.
They spotted a turtle in the water not to far from one of the snorkelers.
A little later they spotted a seal heading towards where RM31 was located. They were able to ID RL20 Kalua, who approached very cautiously. It was if he was asking permission if he could haul up. RM31 Kai reacted to the plopping on the rocks, he turned and barked at RL20. Rl20 stopped, vocalized back but not aggressive. Finally RL20 was able to haul up without confrontation and the two went into snooze mode.
