August 12, 2024 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:10 om and there were four seals seen during that time.
Again out on the Lanikai side of LPB was weaner RT19: weaner size and coloration, light male belly and two red tags.
Near the middle of LPB were two seals:
Weaner RT90 Manapua: large weaner size, light male belly and two red tags.
Near RT90 was RS12 Hoku who was ID'd by her juvenile size, older
coat, tan female belly, two red tags and N3 applied bleach on her dorsal side.
Almost directly down from 1BS was an Adult Female, Marilyn noted that today her size seems to be more sub-adult. She has just started molting on her mid chest. It appears her molt is about 10%. She has two red tags and a line scar on her lower lip.

Team R&B found Kai RM31 rolling about at Kahe. He decided to haul out on the rocks and there are no signs of his molt.
They headed out when I sent them a text letting them know I was in the area. So of course they came back. Much to our surprise we also met up with another old friend John Johnson.  It was nice to be in company of old seal friends.  We got to enjoy RM31 and talk story about the old days.

They got word from another friend of a seal at cliffs. They finally made it out there later in the day and found a seal on the rocks. There was R617 on his own today.
While in the area they spotted some activity in the water, thinking it
was a jumping fish. Getting a closer look they realized it was a seal tossing a fish about. They were watching from afar and couldn't determine what type of fish or who the seal was, only that the seal was jamming.
The seal was young with a clean coat and had red tags.  They watched for awhile, then the seal headed in the Honolulu direction, they weren't able to make an ID.
