August 27, 2024 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:40 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
Alone on the Lanikai side of LPB was weaner RT19:weaner size and shape, light male belly and two red tags.
Alone on the 1BS side of LPB was RP24 Mohala :sub-adult size, new coat, light female belly, two red tags and nb on her LFF. She moved up and down the shore several times and ultimately entered the water when two males entered the water near the middle of LPB.
When Marilyn first arrived there were two seals at the back of the middle of LPB:
Sub-adult Female: large juvenile to small sub-adult, light female belly and two red tags.
Next to the SF was R416 Makali'i: sub-adult to adult size, old coat, no tags, mottle male belly with some distinctive scars and applied N10 bleach, mid dorsal and another in front of the rear flippers. He also has a pit scar in front of his LFF.
At 1:46 pm, Marilyn realized that jumbo weaner RT90 Manapua joined the SF and R416.
Then at 2:21 pm, Marilyn realized that a fourth seal had joined the the trio. The newcomer was an Adult Male with a dark male belly and no visible tags. Marilyn believes this could be RG32 but the photos are not clear enough to confirm. The AM nudged R416 and later the AM entered the water with R416 close behind. They moved in the Makapuu direction and then RP24 followed them into the water.

Team R&B first find was at Pokai. Once again Miss Kala RH76 was there resting and was alone. The waves were coming up all around. She may have moved down as there were some folks there checking her out. Normally they find her further up in her grassy zen garden.
Also the tree trimmers were using machinery to cut down some of the palm trees, so the area was both busy and noisy.
Team R&B spotted a crab holding onto a rock, nature is amazing.

While still on site they spotted another seal coming in fast from town side. The seal looked like the lock ness monster with its head up high looking around.  It was Kaale RH32 looking cool, as he was cruising up on the rocks focused on Miss Kala.
He immediately sniffed her and she barked at him. That got him excited and he followed her up to the grassy area hoping for some loving. They would both settle in. Team R&B headed out at this point hoping nobody would bother them.
They did check back later in the day and both seals were gone.

Lastly they stopped at yoks and spotted a seal that they thought was R3CX while they were there observing him. It wasn't until they got home and viewed their photos when they saw the tag, it is RW02 PvKauai
He was having a good rest, being hit by the waves and having adoring fans taking photos. A makeshift zone was set up with yellow tape and sticks.
