August 22, 2024 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
Out near the waterfront rocks on the Lanikai side of LPB were two seals:
Adult Male: adult size, old coat with lots of green around the eyes and on the belly, dark but sand covered male belly and at least one red tag.
Weaner RT90 Manapua: Marilyn didn't decide this was him until he finally rolled over and entered the water with the AM following at about 2:30 pm.
When Marilyn started viewing there were two seals near the waterline down from the 1BS:
RP24 Mohala: sub-adult size, new coat, light female belly, two red tags and nb on LFF.
Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, a light female belly and two red tags.
There was a seal in the water in front of LPB which Marilyn thinks was weaner RT19. Not long after she started viewing both RP24 and the SF entered the water and both were seen playing with RT19.
At about 2 pm, the SF hauled back out at 1BS and moved up into the dunes where she played with the morning glory. At about 2:30 pm, RP24 hauled out to 1BS and also moved up into the dunes where she also played with the morning glory. About 10 minutes later weaner RT19 hauled out in the 1BS area. He moved up too the morning glory and also played with the morning glory but stayed on the beach. RT9- was in the water off 1BS but did not haul out.

Team R&B started their day at the bay where they found three seals. These days that's like hitting the jackpot. There was RH76 Kala being bothered by RL20 Kalua and R617.
They were up by the grassy area, and there was a homeless guy calling out to them for a reaction. Then he started to hit his poles for sound effects which made the seals look up at him. Team R&B talked with him and thankfully he listened and moved away.
The seals moved up higher on the rocks. Kala was in the lead with RL20 and R617 galumphing quickly for a position. Kala took care of the boys just fine, a little slap, a big bark and a leap gave the boys the message.

They got a text of a seal at Plains, but they were busy with the trio and people they weren't able to get there right away. Finally they made their way over and good they did. There was the lovely Miss Huakai KG54 on shore alone with a zone set up for her. She was settled in and hardly moved at all.

Next stop at the cliffs they found RM31 Kai. I think they have some kind of radar since he was so well hidden in the rocks. They saw his
tags and did their best to get a good photo, but it was hot and he wasn't cooperating. They finally gave up after an hour.

Lastly they went back to check on Kala RH76. She was still there but now in the company of RH32 Kaale. Kala was up on the sand and Kaale was to her right.  RL20 and R617 were gone.
