November 04, 2023 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:38 to 2:36 and there were six seals seen during that time.
Between Middle Cliff and 3BS were two seals:
Adult Male 1: large adult size, new coat, medium to dark gray belly; Marilyn doesn't think he has any tags.
A short distance away was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, newer coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.
Between 3BS and SRI were three seals in proximity to each other:
Adult Male 2: adult size, new coat, medium to dark gray belly and two red tags.
Not far from him was an Adult Female: adult size, light tan female belly and two red tags.
Near her was a Juvenile Male: large juvenile to small subadult size, newer coat, light gray male belly and two red tags.
Alone at SRI was a Female Weaner: weaner size, older coat with tannish yellow female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B once again started their day at the bay. It was very early morning when they spotted two seals seal foraging in the area. The fishers told them they were chasing the akule schools.
One seal was large, clean coat, as well as the second seal large size with a clean coat. The third seal had a darker coat, but they couldn't tell if any of them had tags. It was too dark out to see much of anything.
Team R&B went back later but no seals were around.

At their next stop they watched as R604 was cautiously hauling up on shore.  She finally landed and settled in.  Then three jet skis came by, must have spooked her because she took off. That was it they did not see her again.

At another west side location they found their sunshine, Opihi RQ42 hiding in the rocks. It took some time to get an actual photo of his molt but patience paid off. He appears to be about 50% molted. They
just hope he sticks around after to get a good look at his body condition and if there are any identifiable markers to ID him in the future.
After a while they spotted another seal. This seal was hidden in the upper rocks. They were able to RL08.
One last check of the area they found one more. There was RM31 Kai to the right in his little water hole.
