They started their day at the outfall and there were the boats out with their nets going for Akule. There were two seals out there stealing fish. Team R&B ID'd Rl08 and R3CX, they stayed and watched from 9:55 to 12:30. The fishers caught so much they had to take scoops of fish out of the laynet because it was too heavy. Team R&B called the hotline to report the seals. Nalu R3CX had been onshore at tracks but went to pig out on the fish in the nets.
Nalu returned to tracks and hauled out, probably needed to rest with a full belly. A volunteer arrived to ID the seal and left. She said there was nothing to be done, the fishers have the right to fish. Hmmm how about keeping an eye on the seals to make sure none of them get entangled.
At another west side location they were happy to find RL20 Kalua. He was alone and resting peacefully, no hooks or new markers. Funny I would have thought he'd be at the outfall stealing fish.
Last stop they spotted a seal on the rocks resting peacefully. It was the lovely RH48 Lei Ola, who was about to barf. Team R&B knew the signs, her belly shook, her body moving forward, similar to a dog thats going to barf. And she did, full force, yellow bile. Poor Lei Ola, she barfed twice and then she rested.
