November 03, 2023 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by  Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:15 to 3:15 and there were six seals on island during that time.
Out on the rock flats of LPB was Unknown Adult 1: adult size, newer coat, unsure about sex or tags. Marilyn thinks this is probably one of the recently molted adult males.
On the waterfront rocks of LPB was a Female Weaner: weaner size,
older coat with yellow female belly and two red tags.
Between Middle Cliff and 3BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, newer coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.
Between 3BS and SRI were two seals a short distance apart:
Unknown Juvenile: large juvenile or smaller subadult size, new coat, light gray belly and two red tags. In spite of good views of the belly Marilyn still couldn't make a call on gender.
A short distance away was an Adult Male: large adult size, new coat, gray male bell: did not see tags.
Out of the rock flats between SRI and RRB was Unknown Adult 2: adult size, newer coat. Marilyn believes this could be RK24 but she did not see enough markers to be sure.

Team R&B started their day at the bay and when they arrived they didn't see any seals. Just ready to give up on the site, they saw a "torpedo" coming in fast and landing. It was the lovely Kala RH76. She seemed to be in a hurry to hide. After a while she settled in and went to sleep. They noted she is one fat and beautiful female.

Next they saw Kaale from afar. They did not see any other seals with him in the morning. After a while they headed over to check on him. They were unable to determine if he's molting.

Once again they found RG32 at Kahe. He is a big dude just getting some rest.

At another west side location they were overjoyed when they found Opihi RQ42. The little bugga was so hard to photograph because he was hidden in the rocks. What they could see was his under belly, seems to be molted, his fore and hind flippers and his head.
Another seal came flying in, that it caught Team R&B off guard. They hurried to try and make an ID and get some photos. After viewing their photos, they ID'd RK72 Kekoa Alii. He went to the seal inlet and then took off heading towards Ko'Olina.
If that wasn't enough they were thrilled and surprise to find two more seals. Off to the right at the rocks  were RM31 Kai in his private pond and RL08 was in another.
