June 8, 2023 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn was out checking different areas on the south east side. She was rewarded with a seal !!!! When she was positioned to see the seals identifiers, she was happy to find RK24 Wawamalu/Bruno up close than thru a scope. HE is now an adult, his K24 and K25 tags were visible, as well as his lower lip and male belly. He'll be five this April !

Team R&B started their day at the bay. They were there for two hours before they were rewarded.
The first seal they ID'd was RM31 Kai and the second seal was RG32.
As they continued to watch, two more seals showed up separately. The third seal hauled up, who was RG28 Lefty.  The fourth seal was hiding in the corner. It was RH76 Kala hiding from all the boys.

Next they decided to check on Lei Ola RH48. She was basically in the same area but did move some. They could determine the molt on her face, side and hide flippers, but she wasn't very cooperative.
Later on she relocated around the corner, providing a better look.

Today they decided to make the Ka'ena West trek. They saw a small group of people who seemed to be looking at something. When they got closer there was no seal.  Further down there was a small seal bobbing up and down looking for a spot to haul out. It was Puka RP30 making his way in.

They found another seal during their trek. They spotted a seal at 3rd dip, and there appeared to be an emergency of some sort taking place.
There several agencies responding.
There was also a large male seal snoozing on shore. He had a scar over his eye, no tags seen, left cc scar and ding on shoulder. Looks like RN04 Kainoa is in the neighborhood.
