Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:15 to 2:45 and there were three seals on island.
On the rock flats of LPB was Weaner A: weaner size, shape and color, two red tags. Possibly RS34 but not sure.
Between 1BS & 2BS was Weaner B: weaner size, shape and color, plus two red tags. This could be RS12.
Same spot as yesterday at the SRI was a Subadult Female: subadult size, older coat, tannish female belly with some green and two red tags.
Team R&B arrived at the bay and immediately noticed a seal on the rocks. They ID'd R3CX Nalu, he was alone.
They waited for more seals, spotted one from afar foraging across the way in open ocean. They determined it was an adult, very green snout, yellow outline over the eyes, and then they knew!! It was RH32 Kaale, and the bugger never landed!
Continuing to monitor R3CX they were surprised by a group of men that did a Haka Chant. R3CX went from a dead sleep to flip flopping over the rocks. He took off and they never saw him again.
At another west side location they were lucky to spot a seal hidden in the rocks. After a long while they were able to ID Leina RL70.
To the right was the chubby Kala RH76. As soon as they took the photo they spotted another seal with a scar on the right side. Waves came in and knocked Kala RH76 about. The male with the scar on its head didn't seem to have tags. He came out of the water hole to chase after Kala who fought back. The two of them took off.
With all the commotion, RL70 decided to leave as the waves were taking over the area.
