Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Marilyn.
First passing along a message from Marilyn, she "wishes all a very Merry Christmas in this most unusual year."
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 - 2 pm and found three seals on island.
Near 1BS was UJF unknown juvenile to subadult size, yellowish female belly, two tags and no visible NB or applied bleach. She was aware of the kayaker, but did not seem overly bothered.
Near 2BS was UW unknown weaner size, no tags, yellowish belly (unclear if male or female) and no visible applied bleaches. You can see that the weaner had probably spent last night up in the vegetation by the trail from there to the water.
Behind waterfront rocks toward RRB was UAM unknown adult size older coat, male belly and unsure
about tags. The seal never came out from behind the rocks.Team Billand arrived at the outfall at 7:30. When they got there they found none other than RH32 Kaale foraging in very rough outfall, he was alone today.
Next stop was to the bay. They found multiple seals by the ocean side making it difficult to get IDs especially with rough waters. Once they could take a good look at the photos they were able get some IDs. There was Lei Ola RH48, Nalu R3CX, RL70 Leina, and Aukai RL12. There were two they could not ID and reported as unknowns.
