Team Billand made their usual early morning stop to check on Kaale RH32 and sure enough he was at the all you can eat breakfast buffet foraging his way through. The Ulua guys were at the end of the jetty with their poles, and after munching on some things, Kaale come to the outfall corner to swim and dive. Kaale was soon out of site and they did not see him again.
Team Billand checked all the "hot" spots but there were no seals to be found. Even making the Ka'ena West Trek they only found one critter RW02 PvKauai. He was resting alone, just chilling on the rocks. Tide was rising, he flipped over and they saw his tags. On their way out they checked and was was still there.
Marilyn spent a couple of hours on Makai Pier viewing Rabbit Island. From the very beginning she spotted five seals, four on the left point beach (west of 1BS) and one near the 3BS. About and hour and half later seal number six joined the group pf four.
Marilyn was able to ID:
RK38 Hali'a, by female belly, two red tags, and weaner size and coloration.
RK46 Kea, by adult size, male belly, two tags and natural bleach on RFF.
PO6, weaner size and coloration, natural bleach on lower left side, no tags and "female" belly. (But she's not betting any cats on that)
RL42 Aukai, adult size, somewhat thin, female belly and about 5% molt on chest area. She weaned her RK38 on May 11th, so a molt now would be about 50 days from weaning.
RG32, hauled out later to join the group of four. ID'd by juvenile size, two tags, male belly and blurry N32 applied bleach.
Unknown juvenile near 3BS. two tags, female belly, relatively small and very green. This could be RJ30 Wailea. Don't know if she has been reported to be so green.
