Team Billand started the morning checking in at the all you can eat breakfast buffet for their little problem child. When they arrived Ka'ale was already there eating a large trumpet fish, which was caught by a fishermen, who threw it back into the water. Ha! Ka'ale scooped it up. Team Billand spent some time talking with the fishermen that they have gotten to know. Nice they have a nice bond going with the regulars. They left about an hour later to pick up Jr. Seal Protector Olivia.
Team Billand returned to the outfall but did not see Ka'ale, and then suddenly RN14 Kalani came in with a vengeance and frantically swimming the area looking for his buddy. As quickly as he came in he took off to the open ocean. Team Billand did not see either of them again.
Team Billand headed out to Makaha and found da Benny RE74 on shore fronting one of the home. Team Billand called the hotline to report his location and ID. They spent time educating folks out there, who were gathering with their cameras.
Once they had a chance to learn a little bit they were okay. The homeowner in one of the nearby property was happy to see Team Billand, as they were very concerned for the seals well being. Team Billand had to leave the site, hopefully a volunteer was able to arrive.
Team Billand did the Ka'ena West trek today and saw two seals on the rocks. They ID'd Lei Ola RH48 to the right and RW02 PvKauai was to her left and in a small waterhole. Lei Ola moved more to the right with the high tide coming up.
Team Billand along with Olivia left the site to look for more seals. They saw a woman walking down the cliff, so they went back to warn her to go the other way. She took her photo of her family and then left. Team Billand finally left seals were safe.
