The morning began at 0716 with a report of a seal hauled out at Velzyland. North Sector Manager Don responded and ID'ed Ipo (RI37) by her I37 tag. At 0835 a call came in about a seal at North Beach, MCBH. Anissa responded and ID'ed Right Spot (R016) by her natural bleach mark. Don checked in again at 0930 from Kaena Point with a report of Kaena (RO40). Kaena's ID was made by N9 bleach. At 0942 Don checked in with a report of Rip (RR70). ID was made by his R47 tag. Rip was succesfully vaccinated by NOAA team.
Melanie checked in via email with a report from Mokuleia with Nihoa (R912) and pup. Nihoa and pup ventured off for a 40 minute swim session. Pup was very attentive and followed mom's every move.
