6/18/2016 DB's Dailies: Kaiwi&Pup@AD, Nani,Kekoa,Kala&RG32@Rabbit Island, Kolohe@Lanai Lookout, RIP@Makua Cliffs, Nihoa&Pup, RW02@Mokuleia, Squinty,Ka'ena&RW02@Ka'ena Point

At 0540 I found Kaiwi&Pup(D#3) (RK96), snoozin’ away the early hours, right where they’ve been everyday. I was advised that they later moved down to the water front rocks. Mahalos to Gina , Cate, Karen R, Gayle & Marilyn !!

 At 0814 I found Nani (RK60)& Kekoa (RK72) together in the Morning Glory to the right of 1BS on Rabbit Island. The birds were not happy with them. Nani would later begin galumphing toward the water line at the far left end of the island, with Kekoa right behind. They would enter the water at 1005 and I did not see them again today.

 Also at 0814 I found what would proved to be RG32 to the right of 3BS. He would remain all day. 

At 0906 Kala hauled out to the left of 1BS, on RI. She moved up and snoozed until 1209 when she reentered the water.

 At 1300 I found Kolohe (RW22) just hauling out to the Lanai Lookout flats.

 At 0855 Team Billand checked in with the report of RIP (RR70) at Makua Cliffs.

 Marilyn & Lesley did the End of the World trek today. They reported Squinty (R330) near BG’s Pool & Ka’ena (RO40)& RW02 near Ka’ena’s Pool.

 They had stopped by the Mokuleia, Nihoa&Pup site before beginning the trek, and stopped once again on their way out. To their complete shock they found RW02 there with Nihoa & Pup. They had seen him entering the water at KP at 1110. The on duty volunteer at the site said he arrived there at 1220. Amazing !!!! Marilyn got an interesting series of shots, when the pup started for RW02. Usually, the males run like its Godzilla coming at them, and you can see the RW02 was thinkin’ about it, but he hung in there for a warm/fuzzy moment, until Mom said.... enough of that !

 Ocean Safety (Lifeguards) called at 1454 with the report of an animal at Kaimana Beach, Waikiki. I reminded the dispatcher to call the Hotline as I’d advised with the arrival of the HMMA era, which they apparently did. Heard a rumor from a reliable source that it was Rocky.

 In the Yesterday’s News department, Mahalos to Gary Langley on Kauai for some Pohaku (RO28)&pup shots !
