We early risers found Kaiwi&PO4 just finishing a feed, and venture in for a tide pool water session. When I departed at 0700 they had moved up for another feed. I got back for a 1-4 shift and found them in rough water in water had been the tide pool but was now a rising tide, white water mess. They moved up and kept moving up as the tide drove them higher & higher. They were doing another feed when Marilyn arrived for the 4-7. Mahalos to Jo Stepien, Karen R., Gayle & Marilyn !
At 0844 when I got to Makai Pier, I found Kekoa (RK72) right of 3BS on Rabbit Island. He was in full “cruiser male” mode all day. He would snooze for a while then do an end to end beach check , then hauling out for another snooze. I got glimpses of Kala in the shallows a few times but it was just brief glimpses. At 1216 I finally saw Kekoa & Kala together, just meeting in the shallows at the far left end. Unfortunately, I had to leave.Posse member Kathy Segum called at 1000 with the report of an animal at the Lanai Lookout Flats. At 1038 she confirmed the Kolohe (RW22) with a shot of his big ol’ beautiful right side natural bleach.
A reliable source advises that Rocky (RH58) was at Kaimana Beach today. Departing at 1354. She seems to have been there for the last 3 days, but the info doesn’t seem to be making it through channels.Donna Festa sent shots from her Kayak Posse of Right Spot (R016) on Moku Nui today. Thank you Donna, and Thank you kayak posse. There was some concern about a discharge from between her hind flippers. I totally agree with Tracy’s opinion.....its called poo ! ( I was never so happy to see poop.... the call initially came in that she was bleeding and there was a foul smell..... LOL poop it is! ALSO thank you to Ka'iulani for being so worried she called it into the office and me.... sending pictures immediately....)
