The morning began at 0615 with report from DB about Right Spot (R016) at Sandy Beach. DB would check in again at 0823 with a report of Kaiwi (RK96) at Kaloko Beach (Alan Davis). Another morning call from Jon with a report of Nihoa (R912) and pup in Mokuleia. It is believed Nihoa pupped in the evening on 6/7/16. The SPZ has been set up and Mom and pup are doing well. At 0834 a report came in about a large female at Kahuku Point. The seal was ID'ed later in the day by Diane as R303 at 1415. She was identified by her cc scar above her right nipple. Dana checked in at 0915 with a report of Honey Girl (R5AY) at Kokololio Beach. She was ID'ed by Karen and Diane. At 1048 a report came in about a seal at Nimitz Beach not far from the pier. West sector manager Chrissy responded but due to the distance and position of the seal and ID could not be made. At 1050 a report was made of a seal swimming along the shoreline of Makaha Beach. The seal departed and no ID could be made. At 1254 another report came in about a seal hauled out at Makaha Beach near Makau street. The seal was not ID'ed so it will go down as an unknown. At 1356 Aliza checked in with a report that RL12 was successfully boostered! Diane checked in at 1635 with a report of Holokai (RG40) hauling out at the Elbow. She made the ID by tag G41. The day ended with a call at 1635 with a report of a seal just east of the Barber's Point pavilions. Photos were sent in but still not conclusive. So this seal will also be recorded as an unknown.
