The highlight of my day began when I arrived at Makai Pier for Rabbit Island observations at 0830. The only animal visible at that time was an U/F right of 3BS. She would be joined at 0827 by what would prove to be Kekoa (RK72). It would be 1355 before I finally confirmed an ID on this female. To my shock & awe it would prove to be Aukai (RL12). Though a Rabbit Island girl by birth, she embarked on her great adventure on 11-4-15, showing up at Ka’ena Point a few days later, and the intervening months have taken place at KP, or the West Side. She had last been reported on 6-8-16 when she got her new left side posterior N12 bleach, which is how I got the ID today. Welcome home girl ! It has been a lonnnnng journey. I hope she’ll hang at home for a while.
The rest of the Rabbit Island cast for today would be Kekoa (RK72), RG32 & the weaner, Kala.
Team Billand reported RL42 at Makua Cliffs at 0959. She would be joined by RIP (RR70) at 1554.
I received no other reports from any quadrant today.
