4/11/2015 LATE: DB's Dailies: Kainoa,Kea,Kaiwi&UM@RI, Nihoa@Maipalaoa, Kolohe&RT12@Maili Pt, R330,Luana&RIP@KP, La'akea, R5AY&Ola @ Turtle Bay

So SORRY for the delay in the dailies.... I had technical difficulties and well mostly human error, in that I forgot my working laptop at the store.... and was home in my PJs before I realized what happened.... Here are your Dailies from Saturday

At 0710 I found what would remain an U/M tucked into the base of the cliff, 100 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. He would move down and depart before the light would allow an ID. He was adult sized is the best I can do.

Also at 0710 I found an small animal which would prove to be Kainoa (RN04) just hauling out of the water on the left end of the beach, and galumph up and into the Morning Glory, at the log, 40 ft left of 1BS. He would later move down to cool off, allowing the ID, and remained all day.

The last 0710 find was Kea (RN46), whom I found at mid beach, 40 ft left of 1BS. It would take some time before he was kind enough to roll so that I could finally see that beautiful natural bleach on his right fore flipper.

At 1017 Kaiwi (RK96) hauled out and galumphed up to join Kea. Both would remain there the rest of the day. At 0626 the Billands reported Nihoa (R912) foraging at the Maipalaoa Canal.

At 0630 they reported that, what would prove to be Kolohe had joined her, and they were spatting at the canal mouth. Nihoa would remain there and at 1058 hauled out to Maipalaoa.

Team Billand would report 3 foraging seals off shore of Maili Point . They could ID, Kolohe (RW22) and RT12. The other was unknown.

At 0929 the Billands found Kolohe, checking the hideouts at Maili Guard Rails, and moving on.

At 1005 they reported Kolohe foraging at Maili Point, and finally hauling out at 1420.

Marilyn and Lesley trekked to The End of the World. At 1021 Missus W reported Squinty (R330) near the runway, and Luana (RN58) and a turtle at the main pool. They would soon be joined by RIP (RR70), at Ka’ena Point.

At 1044 Dana called to advise that volunteer, Carola , on R5AY&Ola duty , had reported La’akea at Right Spot’s Spot. Volunteer Gina, on her way to pup duty found reported and documented, La’akea by N31 bleach. She also advised that R5AY & Ola were for a swim together when she arrived for her shift at 1248. Mahalo to Gina for her shots.

Volunteer , Karen Rohter send her report and shots from her shift. She was releived by Gina. Karen reported that La’akea (RK82) had arrived at Right Spot’s Spot around 9-ish. She advised that Mom and pup had done a swim, half way to Kahuku point, on her shift, and were working their way back when she was relieved by Gina. Thank You Karen !!!

A GinaTxt at 1620, on her way out, At TB, advised that Mom & Pup where snoozin’ and that La’akea was still there.
