At 0545 Marilyn, Kimo and I arrived at AD to find Kea within the cordon, 200 ft east of the wall. We also were treated to the end of a "rave" complete with lots of "zombies" and music loud enough to hear at your house, no matter where you live. Through the course of the morning he would range to a point 200 yds east of the wall and then back again. He hauled out briefly to water front rocks and did a full haul out at 1100 100 yds east of the wall. . A "heavy" SPZ with metal poles etc . Is no long possible. Beach of near constant movement of the weaner it is now necessary to revert to lighter signs on poles with rope. A shovel was the most valued tool today. Apparently all of Kea’s activity was in the morning. Afternoon volunteers said he was not active .
At 0643 I got a call from a young posse member reporting an animal at Kaupo Beach Park. When I arrived at 0650 I found Irma (R010) out on the rocks at KBP. The same caller would report her departure at 1105.
At 1149 Sandy Beach Life Guard posse member, Billy called to advise that there was an animal TRYING to haul out at Sandy Beach, but the adoring hordes of assholes wouldn’t allow it. The lifeguards even tried make the idiots move back, but nobody listened. I was fighting my way through the impossible weekend traffic nightmare when Billy called a 1200 to advise me to forget it. The animal had given up and moved off in a westerly direction. I KNOW that it was Buster, I just can’t prove it.
At 0632 Team Billand reported Pohaku (RO28)/ At Paradise Cove.
At 0943 the Billands reported M&M (R020) at Kalaeloa Campgrounds.
At 1036 the Billands reported Benny (RE74) at Makaha Surfside Condos. He would depart at 1129.
Kea having survived his first Rave
Tail up!
Who is he talking to?
The walk of shame after being out all night and walking out in the daylight
Irma just right around the corner from her kid
getting some much needed rest.
