On my Rabbit Island check at 0940 I found Kolohe (RW22) up in the Morning Glory behind Seal Rock Inlet. He would later move down .
The Kaiwi Kuest began at 0600 as usual, but it would be 1014 before Z&P reported her just hauling out to the east side of Crappy Cove, Sandy Beach. Candy, June and I all arrived and a cordon, with rope was set out. Kaiwi would later move up to the beach area, but would then move back down to the water front rocks for most of the afternoon. At 1620 she moved back up to the beach , and moved up and into the Naupaka, staying partially hidden. She was still there when I called it a day in the dark.
The Billands are back !!! They called at 0644 to report Kermit (R4DG) and Irma (R010) still at White Plains. I got word that two idiots entered the cordoned area and hassled the pair. Sad !!!
At 0847 the Billand reported a molting U/M at Makaha.
At 1049 Team Billand found M&M (R020) at Maili Point.
Dana called at 0935 to report R5AY, La'akea (RK82) and Ua Malie (RT10 at Turtle Bay. Both Karen Turner and Diga provided confirmation photos.
Marilyn and Lesley did the Ka'ena Point trek today and found Kerby (RW08) and 761 at the end of the world. At 1720
I spoke with Colleen for the first time in forever. She reported Rocky (RH58) to the right of the path at Diamond Head. She was so busy educating Rocky's many adoring fans that she forgot to take a photo. Speaking of Rocky, I sort of expected a DH call today. This morning while checking the FLICKR site, I found photos taken yesterday of Rocky in her trough at Magic Island. With the insanity of APEC, the girl would have been on her own, even if we had known she was there.
Almost looks like she's been playing in the mud |
Something must be good she's got her tail in a twist
