On my 0610 check of Hanauma Bay I found that Ewa Girl (RS00) had overnighted. She would depart of her own volition at 1253.

On my Rabbit Island check at 0744, I found Duke (RA12) up in the Morning Glory, behind Seal Rock Inlet. Unfortunately, I also noticed what appeared to be a fish hook at the left side of his mouth. I notifed NOAA, and personnel made the trip to RI in the afternoon. Fortunately, there was no fish hook, however he did have fishing line wrapped around his neck and through his mouth, with a light stick attached. He was disentangled and the operation was complete success.

Dana called at 1030 to advise that La'akea (RK82) and Ua Malie (RT10) were at Turtle Bay today. Karen Turner, and Diane Gabriel provided shots of each of them. Happily there was no sign of tako or line in La'akea's mouth.

Speaking of Tracy, I forgot to include in last night's daily, that Tracy had advised the this year's last pup had been tagged on the Big Island. The son of R015 (Lighthouse Mom) had gotten his RK68 tags. She also advised that Makaiwi (R4DF) had been bleached in Kona, with her V02 number. Whooooo hooooo! Makaiwi should be heading home to Oahu soon! Barb keep your eyes open.....
The line that had Duke all wrapped up.... Wonder where he picked this up?
