11-4-11 DB Dailies

The hunt began at 0600 as usual, but it would be 0652 before Marilyn and I lucked out and found Kaiwi (RK96) off shore of the wall. We were joined by Jesse and Jackie, and a bit later by Gayle, and went through the usual lost and found games from AD to Crappy Cove,with able assistance from new members of the "old farts posse" at Crappy Cove. They're just 4 fellow old dude who have a pretty good eye for spotting her, from the parking lot at CC. Jackie went to wait at the Irma's rocks site, after our last loss at CC at 0856. Sure enough Jackie called at 0900 say that Kaiwi was swimming toward her location, and at 0910 Kaiwi hauled out to her usual site, 200 yds west of the AD wall, where she has remained the rest of the day, snoozin' the day away through Gayle, Donna, and Zeeny&Patrick's shifts. Kaiwi departed , blinkin' off into the darkness at 1819.

On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0716, I found Buster (RV08) and Sadie (RB12) just hauling out and moving up to the Morning Glory at the 3BS. They would later relocated nearer the water line, and remained at that location all day.

When I got back to Makai Pier for my 2nd Rabbit Island look, at 0945 I found that Duke (RA12) had arrived at Seal Rock Inlet, at the right end of the beach, and that Kekoa (RK72) was up in the grass, approximately 80 ft right of 3BS. All would move down to cool off later in the day, and all remained the entire observation period. Other than Buster and Sadie there was no observed interaction.

Tracy sent a Kekoa map for the last 3 days.

I find it absolutely fascinating that today's entire Rabbit Island cast are the children of Ewa Girl !!!! Had she and Kerby managed to pop in it would have been one of the all time Warm/Fuzzy moments. Who knows..... maybe tomorrow ????

Team Billand checked in at 0730 with the report of Pohaku (RO28) at Guard Rails Beach, Maili. At 0858 they found Kermit (R4DG) and Irma (R010) at Wind Sock.

Dana called at 1100 to advise that Right Spot had been reported at Rock Piles, on the North Shore, and was Id'd by her N6 bleach. Dana checked in again at 1125 to advise that posse member Vera Cober had reported R5AY at the Keiki Pool, and La'akea (RK82) and Ua Malie (RT10) at separate locations more towar Mackenzies, on the Kahuku side of the pool.
