I had checked and rechecked Kaupo Beach Park on my round, and found nobody, until the 0733 recheck. I found Right Spot partially submerged along the edge of the finger of rock that runs out from the beach on the right side of the fish pond. She would remain there until her departure at 1125. Technically, she was always in the water, but resting comfortably until the rising tide floated her off per water bed. She lolled for a bit in the pool, and leisurely swam out and west. Tomorrow ??????
Once again the Billands had all the boyz at Maili Point. The first to arrive, at 0825, was RIP (RR70). They could see 3 more off shore. Next, at 0826 was Kolohe (RW22), then Kekoa (RK72) at 0838. At 0859 Kimo Kai hauled out but remained to the right of the others.
Marilyn, Ken & Philomena did the End of the World trek today. Their first find was RW02 at Hidden Beach. I mentioned yesterday that he had received 2 new tags (RW04 & RW14). Well, there was also a new addition to his otherwise perfect body. The gang also put a nice “girdle” across his butt. Nice and thick and quite visible.
When they got to the point they found only Ka’ena (RO40). We were hoping for another look at the new CC kid,but alas it was not to be. Marilyn didn’t think she got Ka’ena’s new, upside down, N9 bleach, but lo & behold when we looked at her shots, there it was. It is very difficult to see, but every little bit helps.
A Dana text around 0928 advised of an animal at MCBH. First Anissa and then Lusi & Jason Perry, all confirmed the Nani (RK60) ID, once again at Fort Hase Beach. At 1648 Lusi advised that there was another seal off shore “playing” with a turtle. Lusi reported that Nani departed at 1846.
