I settled in to my Makai Pier perch at 0840, but kept checking Kaupo Beach Park periodically, since the girl is a know visitor there. Sure enough on one of many pans to KBP, I found somebody on the finger of rocks running out from the beach at 0954.
When I got there at 1005 it proved to be Right Spot (R016). She was kind enough to show me her new scars as well as an excellent look at RHF wound. She remains at dark.
It was 1230 before anybody showed up at Rabbit Island. It would prove to be Kimo Kai (RT12) who came galumphing up at the left end. He would turn out to be the only RI resident today. It was overcast and hazy but I could definitely see his right side N13 bleach, however the camera couldn’t see it.
Team Billand checked in at 0611 with the report of an overnighted Benny (RE74) at #1708 White Plains. He would depart at 0812.
At 1110 they reported RIP (RR70)&Kekoa(RK72) together amongst the rocks at Maili Point, and advised that there was still a forager out there. Barbara managed to get a tag shot but had to go home to see it. At 1335 she came up with the great piece of news that it was an L12 tag, which makes this the first ever sighting of Aukai (RL12) on the west side. RIP would return to the water to forage with Aukai.
At 1233 Ocean Safety called advising of the arrival of an animal to Magic Island. Dana was notified, and Melanie Chun reported back that it was Rocky (RH58). She also advised that Jason got good shots so I’m lookin’ forward to that.
The Donna checked in at 1235 with shots of an animal at Moku Nui today. The shots confirm the Nani (RK60) ID, by her N50 left shoulder bleach.
