At Hotline call from Joanne at 0923 brought the report of an animal at Kaupo Beach Park. I zipped down there and at 0929 found Right Spot (R016), floating in the shallows with her head on a rock pillow, mostly submerged. As the tide began to come up she began a slow cruise of the pond made by the two fingers of rock at Kaupo.
She often came quite close to the beach to the delight of beachgoer. I was a busy little beaver following her travels and placing signs fronting her location, just in case. Finally , at 1140 she hauled out to the beach directly fronting the largest group on the beach, which was a birthday party, with lots of kids. The kids and the adults became great posse members. I’m sure it was birthday celebration all will remember. She departed at 1808.
Team Billand checked in a 0630 with the report of Benny (RE74) at #1708, White Plains. He would depart at 0735.
Marilyn, Lesley & Philomene did the End of the World trek today, and reported Kolohe (RW22) (I’ve wondering what happened to that guy), RL42 at the Main Pool.
At 1020 the Billands found Kekoa (RK72)&RIP(RR70) at Maili Point.
At 1051 Diane Gabriel called with a great find. She was with Ua Malie (RT10) at the Campbell Bird Refuge. She walked from Turtle Bay....and back. My knees are aching just thinkin’ about it.
Gina Walker reported Holokai (RG40) at the Elbow, Turtle Bay at 1330. Apparently, he had hauled out around 1100. Diane visited him also on her trek. Tony advised that he departed at 1613(per Diane). In case you didn’t realize it, those finds were a Mom and son situation !
