Both Marilyn & I combed the quadrant on the morning shift , finding zero, except for the Rabbit Island cast. Melanie did an afternoon check and had better luck.At 0925 Cass & Kea (RN46) hauled out to the beach at the left end of Rabbit Island . Kea would relocate to the left end rock flats for the day.
At 1027 Aukai (RL12) would haul out to join Kea on the left rock flats.At 1328 RM38 would haul out to join Kea&Aukai.
Unfortunately, the RI cast had to share the place with a coupla’ bad guys, from 1249 - 1345. The explored the island first to the right and then to the left . Thankfully, they saw the left flats animals from just beyond the 1BS, and did not proceed further. There was no DOCARE response...bummer.
Melanie called at 1253 with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at Irma’s Grotto, Kokee Flats. Posse member Linda N., called shortly thereafter with the same report.At 1435 Melanie checked in again. This time with the report of an U/U, foraging at Spitting Cave. Though more info is required, my guess is that this might well be Duke, but ?????
Several calls came in from a variety of agencies reporting an animal at Sunset Beach. An afternoon email from Dana suggested that it was Right Spot. Awaiting more info.
In the Yesterday’s News department Mary Miyashiro sent the Billands shots of our boy Kerby (RW08) on Kauai. The Billands forward them to me. Thank you Mary !!
