At 1330 Cass (RG06) finally hauled out fronting 1BS, where she remained the rest of the day.
The highlight of the day began at 0722 with a report of a hooked animal at Ka’ena Point. Marilyn & Lesley were already on their way, and at 0901 reported finding Kaikaina (RL54) high on the back beach at Ka’ena Point. NOAA personnel (Michelle, John,Mark & Jesse) responded at 1232 Marilyn reported that the hook had been successfully removed.
Kaikaina had lots of company at the End of the World today, with an especially surprising guest star. The rest of the cast was RIP (RR70),RW02, Ka’ena (RO40) and .............. KAIWI (RK96) !!!! So much for the idea from some bald guy that she had brought La’akea to RI. Nope....... our little girl was at Ka’ena Point. This turn of events just keeps gettin’ “curiouser &curiouser” !
At 1032 Team Billand found RL42 at Makua Cliffs. At 1141 they reported Nihoa (R912) once again at the Maipalaoa Canal. She was gone on their 1424 check.
At 1619 Diane T., reported R5AY & Ola (RG03) once again together at the birth beach, Turtle Bay. Diane advised that they were still there at dark.
