When I got back to Makai Pier at 0900 I found what would prove to be Aukai (RL12) out on the left end rock flats.
At 1018 La’akea (RK82) hauled out at Right Middle Cliff, where she remained until 1228. Then on a pan at 1319 I found her, partially visible to the right of Seal Rock Inlet. This was yet another day where I had her N31 , right shoulder bleach in view the entire day, and yet none of my pictures successfully captured the bleach. Ya’ jus’ gotta’ believe kids...ya’ just gotta’ believe.
At 1228 Cass (RG06) finally came into view, hauling out the the far left end of the beach on RI. She was partially hidden amongst the rocks but it was definitely our little chubette.
Team Billand got a call about an animal in the Kapuni Stream canal in Waianae. They confirmed the animal as Nihoa (R912). The Billands say that this canal is even funkier that her Maipalaoa hangout.
A Diane T text at 1916 advised that she had been with R5AY today. No Ola seen.
Aukai
Cass
La'akea
wonder how long she'll stay
NIHOA... what the heck! get out of the canal
