KP2 Checks In

Hey Blog Lady,
It's Kp2 and I've got some stuff to tell ya!! Well first, my molt is all done and I am feeling gooood. I have been going out and foraging the past few days, cuz you know I didn't eat much during my molt. Last night all the great Molokai Monk Seal volunteers had a potluck at the wharf. Well, I wish they would have told me a few days earlier about the party. They were all a little disappointed when I was a no show, but they had a good time getting to know the other volunteers and eating ono food.

Today I was out and about till mid morning and then I decided to hang out at the boat ramp. You know we have a big canoe race starting here on Molokai this sunday, so I was just watching all the escort boats, paddlers and canoes arrive. Poor Auntie Julie had to keep me from being a pest. Ah... the wharf is such a busy and fascinating place to be at times.

Now for some other fun news! Did you know I have a "Fan Club" in Texas?? Well, because of that little article that was in the Wall Street Journal some students in Texas are trying to find out more about me and the other Hawaiian Monk Seals. Their teacher Ms. H wrote a note to Chris at the WSJ and asked if they could find out more about my situation. Chris emailed the aunties on Molokai (Diane and Val) and now they are getting all sorts of information about ME!!! It's a 8th grade reading class at a small school in Texas. There are 10 kids in the class and Ms. H says that some of the other kids at the school are interested too. They even offered up some solutions as to what should happen to me in the future. How cool is all of this......Some great kids in Texas care about what's happening to me here in Hawaii. I am sure those are some pretty smart kids!!! I'm looking forward to hearing more from them.
Better go, need to find some tako because tomorrow is another day at the Kaunakakai Wharf.

Aloha, kp2
