May 22, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:42 to 2:24 pm and there were just the Moms and their pups.
Again near the LPB channel were MO3 and PO3. MO3 seem to be hanging in there and PO3 continues to grow. There was one nursing session. Marilyn still hasn't been able to determine PO3's sex.
About midway between the 1BS and 2BS were RK38 Hali'a and PO4. RK38 was draped across the waterfront rocks. She finally moved down lower on the rocks and then hauled out with PO4. Both mom and pup seem fine.
Further towards the 2BS were RF34 Pua and PO5. Marilyn is reasonably sure PO5 is a male. Mom and pup entered the water about 1:55 pm and Marilyn did not see them again.

Team R&B started on the west side looking for Miss Kala. They saw a seal coming in and it was Nalu R3CX. He went to all the seal inlets, rolled about took one last look and then took off. They didn't see him again and Kala never showed up.

Over at kahe they spotted two seals on the rocks resting. They weren't sure who the male was so they waited around for a long time. Thankfully he finally moved and they confirmed it was RL20 Kalua and RS32.

They left the site and tried to head out to other spots, but traffic was so bad they made another check at kahe. There were still two seals there but now RS32 was with R416.  Interesting... what happened to RL20. They stuck around looking out at the water for almost an hour and then they saw a 3rd seal had arrived. There on the rocks were RS32 with R416 and RL20.
They did think about Kaale, this was one of his main stops. They spent a lot of time with him and are missing him today.

May 21, 2026 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:34 to 2:11 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time.
Out on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB were RK38 Hali'a and her pup PO4. The pup nursed for an extended time and then went into snooze mode. RK38 still looks like she has some reserves. A brown booby photobombed one of the shots.
Initially in the LPB channel but soon moving out of the channel were MO3 and her pup PO3. PO3 nursed for an extended period of time then went into snooze mode. MO3 is looking thin, but she is still nursing PO3. PO3 is looking healthy.
Between the 1BS and the 2BS were Pua RF34 and PO5. PO5 nursed for an extended time and then moved up the beach. RF34 is looking thin. Marilyn thinks PO5 is a male, but still needs to confirm. A red-footed booby flew through one of the photos.
At 12:45 pm, Marilyn spotted a Juvenile Female on RRB. She doesn't think she was there earlier. The JF was larger juvenile size, older coat with some green, female belly, not sure about tags.

Out on the west side Team R&B did their usual searches. They came across Miss Kala RH76 who was alone when they first found her.
Then they spotted a seal coming into the area fast, it made a turn and hauled up. It was R3CX Nalu
looking around. He went over to Kala greeted her and then the two of them slept the day away side by side.

They headed over to kahe and were surprised to find RS32 there. She was with RL20 Kalua. Yesterday she was with R416. (little floozie). RL20 is getting to be a big boy.
While in the area they saw a boat that appears to be surveying the area.

May 20, 2026 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 2:36 pm and there were eight seals seen during that time.
Out on the rocks in the LPB channel was an Unknown Adult: adult size, light brownish coat, no info on sex or tags.
At 2:02 pm, MO3 and PO3 hauled out from the LPB channel. PO3 looks plump and healthy. PO3 went into snooze mode and was covered in sand.
At 12:47 pm, RK38 Hali'a and PO4 hauled out down from the 1BS. The pup nursed for an extended time. At 1:51 pm RK38 and PO4 re-entered the water and were not seen on the beach again. PO4 seems to be doing fine and RK38 still appears to have substantial reserves.
RF34 Pua and PO5 were down from the 2BS and partially hidden behind waterfront rocks. PO5 was later seen nursing before mom and pup entered the water by 2:21 pm.
At 2:11 pm, Marilyn noticed a seal had hauled out on RRB. The seal is labeled as a Sub-adult Unknown, sub-adult size, no info on sex or tags.

Team R&B were out all day checking all the usual spots, but they only found two seals today.
At kahe they found RS32 she was with R416 Makali'i. They were both resting on the rocks.
Even though they didn't see any other seals Team R&B always look around and find amazing critters everywhere. Today's critter were some goats and then a beautiful butterfly.
