DB Post Saturday 10/10/09

The Rabbit Island day would begin at 0638, with Mojo and Kolohe to the right of 3BS, and a rotting RIP tucked into the base of the cliff at the far left end of the beach. His D#6 molt is 35%.

Even further out to the left , on the rock flats, and also tucked into the base of the cliff, was Duke, though it would take until 1137 to make that determination. I was hoping for Mikala the whole time. This is D#4 with no Mikala ????

At 0703 my old pal , M38 showed up in the shore break fronting Mojo and Kolohe. He never fully hauled out, but remained in the shore break rolling around and doing the occasional bellow. Mojo answered back once. After 15 minutes or so, M38 reentered deeper water, and on a pan at 0932 I found him on the water front rocks at the far right end of the beach, where he remained the rest of the day.

Team Billand reported Irma, once again in front of the showers at the Snack Bar, at 0620. Barbara would call again at 1017 to advise that Irma had entered the water at 0950 and swam in a westerly direction, hauling out again, fronting cottage #1943, the last cottage at the west end of White Plains.

A 1630 call from Team Billand reported Kermit and Rocky on the right side of the Nimitz Beach jetty , and no Irma at White Plains.

Though technically from 10-9-09, Diane Gabriel's Ka'ena Point trek brought photos of Ka'ena and Kerby.
