April 26, 2024 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 2:05 and there were five seals seen during that time.
Between Middle Cliff and 3BS were RF34 Pua and her pup PO3. There was one nursing session but mostly lots of snoozing. Mom still looks good and pup is getting more plump.
Between 3BS and SRI there were initially two seals:
TA68 was courting an Adult Female. TA68 was ID'd by his large adult size, pit scars on his right and left sides, mottled gray male belly with his nb; his tags were not visible today.
Adult Female is probably the seal Marilyn reported yesterday as an Unknown Adult. AF is adult size, tannish female ventral with a few darker spots and two red tags.
At 12:44 Marilyn became aware of a seal swimming along the shore near TA68 and the AF. The seal then swam up the SRI channel and drew the ire of TA68 who charged the seal. Marilyn later ID'd the seal as an Adult Male. The AM left for a while but then returned up the channel and galumphed up and behind SRI where he went into snooze mode. The AM was adult size, dark coat, sand-covered male belly and unsure about tags.

Team R&B's first check at the bay was in the morning. They found RM31 Kai alone at the zen garden.
They also saw two butterflies go by trying to mate mid-air.  Not something you see everyday.

A stop at electric beach they found R3CX Nalu. He was alone resting on shore. A few folks walked by took photos, and went on their way.
Heading over to Kahe they saw RH32 Kaale in the shallows. Shortly after he hauled up on the rocks.
They also spotted a turtle in the water. They made sure it wasn't hooked and it did seem to be doing fine. They have heard from several divers in the area that they have seen hooked turtles several times.

On their second check at the bay they found the lovely Miss Kala RH76. She was hiding off to the right this afternoon. Needless to say she is fat!
They were surprised to see that RM31 Kai was still there on his side at the zen garden.

Last stop at the cliffs they found one seal. They took lots of photos to get an ID and finally they got a picture of his tags. It was RP30 Puka, who they were very happy to see.
